When many people think of Mallorca, they imagine sun-soaked beaches and summer crowds. “What else is there to do there?” they ask. But the truth is, Mallorca is alive with surprises all year long. From festivals and local markets to breathtaking hikes and hidden cultural gems, the island truly has something for every season. We’ve handpicked three must-experience events or activities for each month, so whether it’s winter, spring, summer, or autumn, Mallorca has events for you to enjoy.

JANUARY
5th of January – The Three Kings parade
Just when you think that celebrations are over after christmas and new years, on the fifth of January, the impressive Three kings parade fills the streets of many towns in Mallorca. Go watch the Three kings arrive by boats and the massive structures that are built just for the parade. If you get close enough, you might manage to catch some of the sweets being thrown into the crowds throughout the parade!
16 of January – the Sant Antoni Festival
After a few days of rest, the towns and villages in Mallorca wake up again to celebrate the saint of animals, Sant Antoni. Due to Sant Antoni being the saint of animals, churches are open and you can bring your pets to have them blessed. After that, you can enjoy the bonfires, parades and of course, the dance of the demons and devil that according to legend tempted Sant Antoni. The festival ends with a street party that continues into the morning hours of the 17th.
28th – 1st of February – Mallorca cycling challenge
On the 28th, Mallorca’s biggest cycling competition takes place. The race gathers professionals from all over the world to compete in one or more of the 5 races that are spread out across the island. Go cheer on the riders and watch them compete in the tough races, taking them all across the island!
FEBRUARY
Fira de la flor d’ametler in Son Servera
Mallorca is home to over 4 million almond trees that all blossom with their beautiful light pink flowers at the end of January, being one of the reasons why February is considered one of the most beautiful months of the year on the island. In Son Servera, they celebrate these beautiful trees with a big market, containing locally produced products. Enjoy beautiful sculptures, cutlery and skincare, all made from the Almond tree.
Festes de Santa Agueda in Sencelles
In Sencelles, each February the Saint Agatha is celebrated. Agatha, born in 230 AD in Sicily, is the saint of mainly female nurses. Despite threats from Quinciano, who wanted to force her into marriage, she remained faithful to Jesus, enduring lashes and various tortures until her martyrdom. Remarkably, a year after her death, during an eruption of Mount Etna, the lava stopped when the local people invoked her intercession on February 5, 251 AD.
The celebration consists of a parade, live music, mini discos, a market and the famous fire run.
Sa Rua festival
All over the island, the Carnaval Sa Rua (Sa Rueta for the kids) takes place at the end of February. Enjoy music, dancing, competitions, games and a colorful parade where people dress up in every shape and form. This is a happy celebration, bringing together families and friends all over the island.
MARCH
Fira de la Taronja in Soller
If you love oranges and lemon, this is the place for you to go! During March, restaurants and markets in Soller and Fornalutx focus on the popular fruit, offering special dishes and tasting menus where the local oranges and lemons are main ingredients.
Puerto Portals Classic Car Rally
In Puerto Portals, fans of classic cars and rally lovers gather together in March to watch the international rally drivers compete. With drivers from all over Europe returning year after year, this event has become a well known event on the island. Enjoy the atmosphere and cars, the race and the little market in connection to the competition.
‘Fira del Ram’ in Palma
Between the end of February until the end of April, the amusement park Fire del Ram opens in the outskirts of Palma. With over 150 attractions this theme park attracts people from all over the island. From haunted houses to large roller coasters – make sure not to miss it!
APRIL
Semana Santa
Easter is a big holiday in Spain, with big religious celebrations and ceremonies around the entire country. With big and dramatic parades, in the famous cultural and religious capes accompanied by drums. Large statues of Jesus, Virgin Mary and saints are carried throughout the city on large platforms, decorated with candles and flowers.
Palma International Boat Show
The Palma International Boat Show, held each spring in Palma de Mallorca, is a leading Mediterranean nautical event. It showcases hundreds of yachts, from small sailboats to luxury superyachts, alongside the latest marine technology and equipment. The show features a Superyacht Village and a New Build Hub, highlighting cutting-edge yacht design and construction. It attracts yacht owners, brokers, and marine professionals, making it a key industry and networking hub. Set in the scenic Moll Vell, the event combines boating, innovation, and Palma’s vibrant atmosphere.
Sant Jordi
Sant Jordi is celebrated on the 23d of April and is in a way, the Spanish version of Valentines day. It is a vibrant cultural festival of love, books, and roses, with streets filled with stalls selling books (often discounted) and red roses, author signings, music, and literary events, honoring the legend of Saint George slaying a dragon.
MAY
Es Firó in Sóller
Es Firó in Sóller is a vibrant Moors and Christian festival held the Monday after the second Sunday in May, reenacting the 1561 defense of the town against Algerian pirate invaders with mock sea battles at Port de Sóller, street fighting, costumes, fireworks, and celebrations, celebrating the victory of the locals. It’s a dramatic, colorful festival with music and dance, and historical reenactments that demonstrate the day Sóller’s residents, and especially women, successfully repelled the attack.
Feria de Abril in Alcudia
If you want a taste of the southern Spain culture and enjoy some Flamenco in Mallorca, head up to the Feria de Abril festival in Alcudia. For three days the town will be filled with flamenco music, equestrian shows, frilly dresses, rebujito, and traditional Andalusian cuisine. An event that brings together locals and visitors for a must-attend cultural gathering in Mallorca.
Mallorca Olympic Triathlon
On the 23d of May, the town of Colònia de Sant Jordi hosts their annual olympic triathlon. Go watch and cheer on the 500 athletes, coming to Mallorca from all over the world, when they take on the 1,5 km of swimming, 40 km of biking and 10 km of running.
JUNE
Sant Joan Celebration
Sant Joan is a big and happy summer celebration with fire, fireworks, drums and beach parties. In Palma you can see parades with demons and dancing, and even firebreathing dragons. The biggest celebrations are in Palma, Alcudia and Ciudad Jordí, but it is celebrated in every town in Mallorca. Don’t forget to swim in the ocean at midnight for good luck!
Mallorca Live Festival
On the 12-14th of June Magaluf hosts the Mallorca Live Festival with international line up and different styles of music each day. The line up for this year contains David Guetta, Aitana and The Prodigy among many others.
Sunday Sunset Jazz in Sa Pobla
Enjoy a calm evening with some Jazz music in the square of Sa Pobla in June! Each Sunday of the month, the main square lights up with live music and good vibes, bringing locals and tourists together to enjoy the sunset with a drink and some local food.
JULY
Copa del Rey sailing competition in Palma bay
The Copa del Rey MAPFRE is a prestigious sailing regatta held each summer in Palma Bay, Mallorca. It features elite yachts and crews competing across multiple classes in intense daily races. Founded in 1982, the event often involves King Felipe VI and top international sailors. The regatta combines high-level competition with a lively social atmosphere in the harbour. With its stunning coastal setting, it is a highlight not to miss of Mallorca’s summer sporting calendar.
Festes de la Beata Santa Catalina Tomás
On the 28th of July, Valdemossa celebrates the only Mallorquin saint – Santa Catalina Tomás. She was born in 1531 in Valdemossa and she was known, already as a kid, for being deeply religious and very humble and friendly to everyone. According to stories, she had religious dreams and visions and was able to help and support anyone who needed her. After her death, people started praying to her when they needed help and support in everyday life and for families and children in need. Visit her chapel and enjoy dancing, music and relics in the beautiful town.
The night markets
In July, there are multiple night markets all over Mallorca that we recommend a visit to, where many are accompanied by music, dance and food.
AUGUST
Moros i Cristians – Pollença
Once again we see a reenactment from when Mallorca was attacked by Pirates, but on a much larger scale – this is a must if you are in Mallorca on the 2nd of August. The entire town dresses up and massive mock fights with swords occur on the streets. This is a loud and wild festival, not really appropriate for kids, with thousands of people participating. Expect fire, cannons, fireworks, music and dancing when the Mallorkins “fight” the Arabs that once ruled the island.
Cinema under the stars
In August, most of the outdoor cinemas take place. Enjoy famous movies on beaches, in parks and in squares with hundreds of others during the warmest nights of the year all around Mallorca.
Festes de Sant Bartomeu in Sóller
In Sóller annual celebrations for the town’s patron saint, Saint Bartholomew, held around August 24th, featuring a mix of cultural events like art, music, and sports, culminating in a spectacular “Nit de Foc” (Night of Fire) with costumed demons (Esclatabutzes) performing fiery dances (Correfoc) through the streets, involving fireworks and sparks, drawing huge crowds for a traditional Mallorcan experience and dance into the morning hours with DJ’s and live bands.
SEPTEMBER
NIt d’Art
Nit de l’Art is Palma’s annual Night of Art held each September, turning the historic centre into an open-air contemporary art gallery. Galleries, museums, and cultural spaces open late with exhibitions, performances, and talks. The event features local and international artists and attracts thousands of visitors. For one night, streets, squares, and rooftops host creative displays in a festive, free celebration. It’s one of Palma’s most anticipated cultural events, blending art with the vibrant city life.
ATP Mallorca Championships tournament in Santa Ponsa
The ATP Mallorca Championships is a men’s professional tennis tournament held each June on the grass courts of Mallorca Country Club in Santa Ponsa. Part of the ATP Tour 250 series, it serves as key preparation for Wimbledon. Top international players compete in singles and doubles, attracting strong fields and enthusiastic crowds. Since 2021, it has grown in prestige and attendance. Set in scenic Santa Ponsa, the event combines world-class tennis with a vibrant summer atmosphere.
Wine tastings on local vineyards
September is the month where most grapes and foods are harvested in Mallorca, and many vineyards are open for wine tastings with their own produced wines and foods. We recommend visiting vineyards in the area around Porreres and Pla in Llevant for fantastic wines and foods in September with beautiful surroundings.
OCTOBER
Fira Dolça d’Esporles
Do you like sweets? In that case, on the first Sunday of October, we recommend you head out to Esporles and their annual sweets festival! Here, you can enjoy ensaïmadas, bunyols, crepes, and other local sweet dishes. The small town is filled with stands that serve sweets in all shapes and forms. You can also join cooking workshops, enjoy local music and there are also activities for kids.
Fira de la Llampuga – in Capdepera/Cala Rajada
In October, the dolphinfish wanders around the waters close to Mallorca, and what else to do then celebrate it with a 3 day festival? The celebration has different themes each day, with Sunday being the main day. On Sunday, you can see the big displays of the Llampuga fish and restaurants and hotels offer special dishes for just this day in different variations. The night ends with fireworks over the harbour.
Rolex Grand Finale Golf Tournament in Alcanada
The Rolex Grand Final at Club de Golf Alcanada in Mallorca is the season-ending championship of the Challenge Tour, bringing together the top players from the Road to Mallorca series. Played over four rounds on Alcanada’s scenic par-72 course, the tournament offers a challenging test with stunning views of the Mediterranean. Top finishers earn promotion to the DP World Tour, making it a high-stakes finale for rising stars and seasoned pros alike. With its competitive field and beautiful setting, the Rolex Grand Final is a major highlight of the European golf season.
NOVEMBER
Palma Marathon
The Palma Marathon Mallorca is held each October in Palma de Mallorca and features a full marathon, half marathon, and 10 km race. The scenic course passes the waterfront and historic old town, finishing near the cathedral. Thousands of runners from around the world take part, creating a festive atmosphere. The event combines sport with music, expos, and community activities.
Palma Cathedral Rose Window Light
Palma Cathedral’s Rose Window Light is a unique phenomenon that occurs inside La Seu, the Gothic cathedral in Palma. On two mornings each year, the rising sun shines through the cathedral’s enormous rose window and is perfectly reflected onto the opposite wall, forming the shape of a horizontal figure eight. This brief but spectacular moment fills the interior with colorful light and is the result of the cathedral’s precise medieval architecture. The phenomenon can be seen around sunrise on 2 February and 11 November, attracting locals and visitors who come to witness the harmony between light, geometry, and Gothic design.
Evolution Film Festival
The Evolution Mallorca International Film Festival (EMIFF) is held each October/November in Palma de Mallorca, celebrating international cinema. It screens features, documentaries, and shorts while hosting panels, masterclasses, and industry events. The festival highlights both emerging and established filmmakers and includes awards and special programs like the Cinematography Focus. Screenings take place in historic and contemporary venues across Palma, including outdoor experiences. EMIFF combines artistic excellence with Palma’s vibrant cultural setting.
DECEMBER
Palma Christmas Markets
In December, Palma transforms into a festive wonderland with Christmas markets and sparkling lights. Stalls along Passeig del Born and the main squares sell crafts, decorations, and local treats like turron and ensaimadas. The streets are filled with the sounds live music, creating a magical atmosphere. Children can enjoy workshops and crafts while adults explore food and gifts. The markets combine culture, tradition, and holiday cheer in a cozy setting. Visiting them is a perfect way to experience Mallorca’s winter spirit.
El Cant de la Sibil·la
On Christmas Eve, the ancient tradition of El Cant de la Sibil·la is performed in churches across the island. A solo singer delivers the medieval prophecy of the Last Judgment, echoing dramatically through the vaulted ceilings. The performance is quiet, solemn, and almost mystical, drawing both locals and tourists. Recognized by UNESCO, it is a striking example of Mallorca’s musical and cultural heritage. Witnessing this centuries-old ritual is a deeply memorable experience, combining history, faith, and art.
Nativity Scene Exhibitions
Throughout December, towns and cities across Mallorca display elaborate nativity scenes (betlems). Some are large and highly detailed, depicting entire landscapes, while others are small and charming. Families and visitors stroll through the exhibitions, enjoying the creativity and storytelling of the Christmas story. Lights and decorations bring the scenes to life, making the displays feel vibrant and festive. Visiting multiple betlems is a wonderful way to explore local traditions and enjoy Mallorca’s holiday spirit.
