International Schools in Mallorca

For families relocating in Mallorca, finding the right school for the kids is an essential and important part of the move. Thankfully Mallorca has a large range of international schools. Here’s our guide to private international schools worth knowing about.

The Academy

The Academy is one of the most in demand schools on the island. With primary and secondary split across two campuses. It follows the British curriculum from preschool to IGCSE, before students move toward the IB diploma. From next year, A levels will be offered as an option, making it an even more flexible option for a seamless academic journey in one place.

Palma College

Palma college is the only dedicated sixth-form college in Mallorca, creating a focused and distraction free environment for students aged 16-18. Unlike larger schools that cover all ages, every aspect of Palma College is geared towards university preparation. From next year, the school will include a bunch of new subjects for students, which makes it an even stronger competitor against other schools.

Bellver

Founded in 1950, Bellver is the oldest private British school in Spain, giving it over 75 years of credible reputation on the island. This school has a maximum of 15 pupils per class, making sure that each pupil gets the best chance. It takes students from early years right through to sixth form. Situated close to the beach and only three kilometres from Palma, It’s a natural fit for families settling in the South West.

Queens College

Queens College offers both A levels and the IB diploma, giving students the freedom to choose which curriculum they believe fit best. The school recently opened a brand new campus dedicated for sixth form students, with modern facilities and an indoor swimming pool, making it a great option for families seeking a modern setting with strong academics.

King Richards III

Located in Portals Nous, King Richards College is the only international school to offer Marine Science, Music and Photography up to A level, making it a prominent choice for creative or scientific students. The school also has a strong performing arts culture, with large theatre productions that give students a chance to express themselves beyond the classroom.

Eurocampus

Eurocampus is a German school on the island, making it a natural choice for German speaking families relocating to Mallorca. The school follows the German curriculum from primary to secondary helping students to get their Abitur qualification, which is a well respected qualification for universities worldwide.

Svenska Skolan

Svenska Skolan is the island’s only Swedish school, situated in the heart of Palma. The school has about 90 pupils from nursery through to high school with small classes.

Lycée Français

Founded in 1970, Lycée Francais is Mallorca’s French school covering ages 2 to 18 and is recognised by French and Spanish education ministries. It offers both the French curriculum as well as the IB diploma. Students usually leave having mastered four languages, making it a convincing option not just for French speaking families but for any family where multilingual education matters.

BIC

BIC is a non-selective British school located in the southwest of the island, welcoming students from as early as the age of three. At sixth form, students can choose from a large variety of A level subjects and the school is also offering the Duke of Edinburgh award, a valuable addition to any university application.

Escola Global

Escola Global takes a unique approach to teaching. With only one class per year group, students benefit from a close-knit community where individual attention is built in the structure of the school. Located in ParcBit Palma, It’s a recognised eco-school where the outdoors and project based learning is integrated into daily life.

In conclusion, choosing the right international school in Mallorca is about finding the best fit for your child’s needs, learning style, and future goals. Each school offers its own strengths, from academic programs to language opportunities and community environments. Take the time to visit, ask questions, and explore what feels right for your family. With the right choice, Mallorca can be not only a beautiful place to live, but also a great place to learn and grow.
