Swedish sculptor Lotta Lundberg creates handmade figurative sculptures with a pared-back, personal expression. The figures depict people, but they are not portraits. Instead, they explore feelings and states of mind as stillness, strength, reflection and presence. Lotta works primarily with a clay-based sculptural material. Form comes first. She then uses colour and painted surfaces to strengthen the character of each piece.

In 2026, her collection Return to Home was presented at Concepció by Nobis in Palma de Mallorca. The collection centres on a simple idea: finding your way back to yourself.
Mallorca has become a natural setting for her work. The strong light, old stone buildings and the fluid relationship between indoor and outdoor spaces allow the sculptures to change depending on where they are placed. A figure can feel one way in a bright interior and completely different against a raw stone wall or in the evening sun.
Titles such as Silent Thought, Listen Within, Hear My Silence and Unshaken offer a clue to what Lotta wants to express. She does not tell the viewer what a sculpture should mean. There is always room for a personal interpretation.

Lotta has her roots in Sweden, where her sculptures are shown, among other places, through an exclusive collaboration with Norrvikens Trädgårdar in Båstad. At the same time, Mallorca has become an important part of her artistic practice. Nordic simplicity meets the light and warmth of the Mediterranean.
And perhaps that is exactly where Lotta Lundberg’s sculptures belong – in spaces where people actually live.
