Sara Jorslov – When Mallorca’s nature becomes art

We are delighted to welcome artworks by Sara Jorslov to our office! Her paintings capture some of the things we love most about Mallorca – the turquoise Mediterranean Sea, the dramatic landscapes, and the extraordinary light that makes the island so unique.
But behind the beautiful colours and shapes lies a personal story, a deep love of nature, and a desire to communicate something greater through art.

A Deep Connection to Mallorca

Sara Jorslov was born in Mallorca and has had a close connection to the island’s natural beauty since childhood. The coastal landscapes of the Serra de Tramuntana have been particularly meaningful to her. Here, surrounded by cliffs, mountains, and the ever-changing colours of the Mediterranean, her fascination with nature’s shapes and movements first began.

This love for Mallorca remains at the heart of her artistic expression. Through her abstract paintings, she interprets the island’s landscapes in her own distinctive way, bringing together sea and land through colours, textures, and organic forms.

For Sara, it is not about recreating a place exactly as it appears, but rather capturing the feeling it evokes. A memory, the movement of water, or the contrast between rugged cliffs and the gentle sea can become the inspiration for a new work of art.

Art That Evokes Emotion

An important part of Sara’s creative process is her exploration of different materials and techniques. She experiments with texture and the movement of paint to bring depth and life to her paintings. When depicting land and rocky formations, she often uses thicker layers of paint and textured surfaces to create a sense of solidity and strength. In her interpretations of the sea, she works with more fluid techniques, allowing the colours to flow freely and form organic patterns.

In this way, her creative process reflects the contrasts found in nature itself, stillness and movement, strength and harmony.

A Love of Nature and a Desire to Protect It

Sara’s art is also deeply rooted in her commitment to the environment. Growing up surrounded by Mallorca’s natural beauty has given her a profound appreciation for the island, but also an awareness of how fragile its landscapes and ecosystems can be.

Through her work, she hopes not only to celebrate nature but also to encourage reflection on climate change and our shared responsibility for the planet. Her paintings may evoke a sense of peace and harmony, while at the same time carrying a deeper message. For Sara, art becomes a way to express both her love for nature and her concern for its future.

Having Sara’s paintings in our office brings not only colour and personality to the space, but also a story about the place we love.

We look forward to sharing her art with everyone who visits us!
